-‘SynergyCares,’ A Nine-Point Guest Health and Safety Experience Initiative for Extended-Stay Travelers

-New research reveals growth in demand for serviced accommodation

San Ramon, CALIF. (June 11, 2020 —) Today, Synergy Global Housing (Synergy), a leading global serviced accommodation provider announced SynergyCares, a wide-ranging nine-step global health and safety initiative. In alignment with public health recommendations from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the European Center for Disease Control (ECDC), and the World Health Organization (WHO), SynergyCares aims to reinforce duty of care policies and procedures for guests, corporate clients, and business partners while maintaining a safe work environment for staff.

The introduction of SynergyCares coincides with a company sponsored virtual roundtable event entitled “Restoring Traveler Confidence” set to be attended by over 100 leading corporate buyers from across the globe. The virtual roundtable will feature new corporate travel research highlighted by a key trend noting over a third of travel buyers plan to increase their use of serviced accommodations as an alternative to hotels due to the impacts of COVID-19.

The needs of business travelers and corporate clients are changing as we emerge from the pandemic, and we believe that serviced apartments provide one of the safest accommodation options for travelers. Our SynergyCares initiative lays the groundwork for some of the strongest and most comprehensive health and safety standards in the market place.

…it’s more than simply medical-grade disinfectants, electrostatic sprayers, and a housekeeping PPE policy—it’s an enduring, holistic approach to caring for our guests, staff, environment, and a model for the industry as a whole.”

SynergyCares is a measured, comprehensive initiative to restore global traveler confidence post COVID-19. At its core, the initiative introduces a commitment to nine health and safety measures aimed at protecting guests and staff. Beyond, SynergyCares is a monetary and human capital investment in the methods, products, and philosophy Synergy uses to care for its guests now and into the future.

At Synergy, our apartments and cleaning standards are, and always have been, a priority. Synergy was one of the first operators to publish its diligent cleaning guidelines and apartment checklists to ensure transparency and accountability in not only our processes but the products we use. With SynergyCares, we didn’t just elevate a cleaning policy, we elevated our entire guest service philosophy to account for the evolving needs of global travelers.

U.S. President, Debra Christopher.

The SynergyCares initiative intends to bundle its already heightened health and safety protocols (due to risks associated with COVID-19) with its people- and environment-first business principles.

To Synergy, the ‘little things mean a lot,’ and are the mark of a well-considered, well-executed housing program. From our internal training programs to the way we enter apartments to our lift protocols to giving the guest the choice to pick the arrival method they feel most comfortable with to our mid-stay guest check-ins—all the way down to how we select and partner with our global supply chain partners—every last detail has been thoroughly thought-through.

Serviced accommodations, also known as serviced apartments or corporate apartments, represent one of the safest extended-stay accommodation options for global travelers. As emerging virtual life and work trends stand the test of time, serviced accommodations offer consumer and business travelers an optimal environment to safely balance work and life on the road.

The world of business travel has dramatically changed as a result of Covid-19. Travelers are seeking a renewed confidence, trust, and peace of mind when considering accommodations. Synergy’s serviced accommodations, with the space, comfort, and facilities they offer, have always been a natural choice for extended stay travel. Now as a result of this ‘new normal,’ the inherent ability to control your environment makes our serviced accommodations a truly ‘safer way to stay away.’”

Managing Director, APAC, Diana Ong

Serviced accommodations offer guests a controlled, isolated and well-ventilated environment with all the major common lifestyle needs—full-sized kitchen and refrigerator, ample living and private spaces, and in many cases, in-unit laundry—all accounted for in one turn-key product and service offering. Due to this robust extended-stay living environment, less interactivity between neighbors and guests in common areas occurs naturally.

Moreover, typical amenities offered with most serviced accommodations (i.e., gyms, pools and business centers), are frequented by a small, controlled population of neighbors. This fact lessens the likelihood of congestion and increases the ability of staff to control sanitization measures and protocols. All in all, serviced accommodations offer consumers and business travelers the perfect environment for a safer, more controlled extended-stay living experience.
