Veteran Corporate Housing and Property Management Executive Brings Deep Experience in
Multi-National Operational Management and Expertise in International Expansion

San Ramon, Calif., April 18, 2019—Synergy Global Housing is proud to announce that it has named Stephen Hanton as President of the company’s International Division. Hanton will report to co-founding partner Henry Luebbert and will be based in Synergy’s new European office in London.  In this new role, Hanton will be responsible for leading Synergy’s ambitious expansion in the EMEA and APAC regions.

Hanton, an award-winning leader in multinational operational hospitality management with expertise in multiple operating models, rapid growth and leading teams through transitions joins Synergy from SACO (The Serviced Apartment Company), where he served as CEO Commercial from 2015, having previously been Managing Director. His responsibilities at SACO included full leadership of the business as it expanded into the Aparthotel category, managing it through its first sale, merging with a property team, and then taking a lead role in the subsequent second sale.

Hanton has also served in a variety of management and executive roles ranging across hotels, serviced apartments, property management and corporate housing.  He served as Managing Director, EMEA at BridgeStreet Accommodations Ltd., having first joined the sector as General Manager of Hyde Park Residence on London’s Park Lane.  Prior to this, Hanton held General Manager roles with Marriott and Holiday Inn.

Hanton’s appointment comes at a pivotal time as Synergy continues its international expansion to support its mission to reset the hospitality ecosystem.  A core part of the organization’s growth strategy is to build world-class teams to serve clients at the highest service level in the regions where they operate.  Hanton’s focus will be to grow the International business outside the U.S., while Debra Christopher will serve as his counterpart in the U.S. and will be Synergy’s President of the Americas.  Both Hanton and Christopher have stellar reputations for their leadership qualities and for developing corporate cultures where exceptional talent wants to work.

Hanton earned his Bachelor’s degree with honors in Modern History and Politics from the University of Liverpool. He is married with two adult children.#
