As the holidays approach, it is important reflect on our successes and give back to those that weren’t as fortunate. Synergy Global Housing wants to take this opportunity to recognize members of our family that spent time this year working toward making their own communities a brighter place to live.

Here are a few members of the Synergy family that have worked with charities during their free time in 2016:

Katie Lim and her family are active with the Singapore charity Save our Street Dogs. This organization is dedicated to the welfare of Singapore’s street dogs. SOSD looks for a humane way to manage the country’s stray dog problem through adoptions and foster care programs, as well as volunteering opportunities at Singaporean animal shelters.

Nicole Sterba and her boyfriend have spent much of their time this past year volunteering with the East Bay/Silicon Valley chapter of Habitat for Humanity. This organization brings people together to build affordable and sustainable housing solutions, and empowers families through successful homeownership.

Bernie Umale, Diana Chan and Erin Skeen spent Thanksgiving morning serving meals and handing out supplies to the homeless in Hayward, California, through Soulciety, an organization focused on workforce and creative development. Bernie also participated in an event during December where she helped pass out hygiene bags, lunches, coffee, showers and haircuts to the underserved and underprivileged.
