November 11th is known as Veterans’ Day in the US. This is a day to honor persons who have served in the United State Armed Forces. It coincides with other holidays, including Armistice Day and Remembrance Day, celebrated in other countries to mark the end of World War I.
In honor of Veterans’ Day here are a few members of the Synergy family that have previously served their country:
Sheila Jessup-Schwarz, US Air Force
Sheila served 12 years in the Air Force (six years of active service and another six in the reserves). During her service time in the early 1990s, she was stationed in Kuwait during Operation Desert Shield. In addition to her combat duty, she spent time in Japan and Alaska during her service.
Andre Blakely, US Air Force
Andre served almost nine years in the Air Force. He enlisted with the ambition of becoming a pilot, before eventually becoming an Aerospace Control and Warning Systems Operator while stationed at McChord Air Force Base in Tacoma, WA.
Tano Washington, US Marine Corps
Tano joined the Marine Corps in 1998 and served for five years. During his time with the Marines, Tano became an Assault Amphibious Vehicle Mechanic, performing automotive duties to the AAV family of vehicles. He was primarily stationed at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, NC.
